2017 update: Part 1 (feb2016-April2016)

HELLOOO LOVES. Are you curious about what I am doing in ShangHai? It is now my second year in ShangHai University of TCM and I would love to share about what I have been doing! But since I dont get to update in China because China blocked Blogger, and I will lose my patience if  I update using VPN, so here am I, updating about my life, after a year!

I have quite a couple of pics to share, so I am gonna divide into a few parts. So I am going to start from the time when I flew back to Shanghai after my winter cny break here in Malaysia, which was last year, February 2016.

I actually dont really remember what I have done back in Feb till May. I had exams right after Cny so I had to catch up with my studies since I forgot about everything I studied before the Chinese New Year. The only thing I remember is that the temperature went up in March April and I loved the weather! Its finally SPRINGGGGG. Winter was awesome too but thank god I was already back in Msia when the temperature was at the lowest. Beautiful flowers were blooming everywhere. And it is SPRING when you see people going to the parks, going out for sports and get sportyyyyyyy!

Leaving yall to the pics now!

I joined a debate competition and my team debated against China students!
I can never forget how fierce they were. Scaryyyy.

Taichi class!

We had to dissect this poor rat. *praying*

We gave a performance at the 2016 Awards Ceremony.

Out for Volleyball!

Out for cycling!

Nike came to our school so my friend and I went for their yoga/ workout session.

Joined the pingpong competition. Omg I had to play against 3 very pro players.
I went for fun.. So..

Malaysians in Shutcm gathered at the Century Park for picnic and games!

Perfect weather. Say hi to all future doctors!

My unis sports day.We lost. heh.

Counting down!

Oh mai gawdddd.... I'm gonna be on the plane back to ShangHai in 2700 minutes. *cries* Even tho this is the second time leaving home, I'm still not used to it... Was packing my stuff just now... All the feels...

Anyways, I am so excited to meet up with my friends! It's so nice to be able to catch up with each and everyone of you and I can't wait to spend time y'all again! :)

#1 Amanda and Miang(Suk Min)  2/2
We actually planned to chill at Amanda's house but Miang wanna get Cny clothes, so we went Sunway instead. Her bro told her that Padini was having sales, but we were depressed and disappointed as we did not like any of the designs and there wasn't much sales going on too! Miang got herself a simple black tee anyway.. Miang and I chose a vegetarian res in Asian Avenue to fill our hungry stomachs but Da wanted to eat meat. We pulled her hair in order to force her to sit down and eat with us. HAHA. Jk. We ordered meals, sat in the res and chit chat for about 3 hours, I think? The waitress was so kind she offered us glasses of water! We talked a lot, mostly about our uni life. Da's very active in her church, and I adore her very much, at how committed she is in church, and how she is serving others in need. She's currently teaching a middle-aged lady who doesn't know how to read but is able to use the dictionary and recognize words now. The lady has a dream, which is to be able to join the choir and read. And Da is helping her to realize her dream. Oh, how meaningful and beautiful is that! Miang's having loads of stress handling her exams and projects, but she has seniors and lots of friends taking her out to play so I'm sure she can handle the stress well. Heh. She surprised me when she said she sleeps at 12am cos in high school I remember she sleeps very early. 9/10pm? Her seniors sometime do not even sleep for the whole day when they're rushing their assignments! As a student studying med, let me give you a piece of advice, please let your body rest after using it for a whole day, don't abuse your body, okay. :)  Miang said I should open my clinic right next to her uni next time, cos many people in her uni will need to see me. Hahah. Ended our date eating Da's fav--- Jipangi before we left Sunway.

We promised to meet each other after cny since Miang and I are leaving on the same day.. But we were all busy... One day with them is always not enough. Not enough time to prank people, at least (one of our must dos when we meet up) HAHA.

#2 Hwei Qing 4/2
My closest long time ago old friend since primary school standard 1. Also, my personal stylist. HAHA. We met up again, in Sunway cos we stay nearby. Both of us were very close back then in primary, I went her house for sleepover, watched her play the 'audition dancing game', played with her dog Yoyo, sang karaoke, went to her teahouse for lunch, she treated me Cappuccino or Latte (I forgot) when we were merely twelve. How time passes, we're both now in uni. During high school, we were in different schools so we didn't hang out and contact each other often. Until '14 when we attended class gathering, we met, topics just flew out of our mouth. Time can't set us apart. We are meant to be old besties.HAHA. She took me to her uni, which is just beside Sunway. Heh not everyone has the chance to step into the library of The One Academy. Her library just renovated she said before that her library looked like classrooms of 超级补习班. Hahah, She took me to the gallery where graduates exhibit their drawings or projects, etc. Dang, they were surely cool. I'm looking forward to see yours in the gallery! You can be as good as them, or even better than them, I'm sure of that. :) We went Simple Life for lunch and chit chat for quite a long time too.

#3 Chummm 6/2
Panda chummie is now in Tasmania! Miss you TT Hung out with her before she left msia for her studies in Tas, Yupe, cos of some reasons, we didn't go to the same uni together. She took actuarial sc in Sunway, but she had a strong urge to leave Msia, and after some considerations, she made the decision to study BioMed in Tas! I feel so happy for her, for she has finally chosen a path she wanted. Hope you'll enjoy your life there chummie! I know you'll do well and you'll meet lots of friends there. Don't ever find anyone to replace me eh. Talk to me when you miss home. Wanted to have sleepover with her and beatrice, meihui and jiaxin but we couldn't find the right time. Next time maybe? When Becca is around too! I will miss talking to chummie cos she cuteness overload hahahahh. Video call me soon eh.

#4 Gillian and Zhisan 15/2-16/2
I waited so long to meet up with these two orang cray cray. We went cafe hopping in KL. We have conquered almost all the cafes in SS15, Subang, so we decided to crash the cafes in KL. Oh damn. Going out with them is so adventurous, All we had was Gillian's Google Map, we crossed roads, crossed bridges just to get to the cafe Zsan was searching for. This cafe camouflaged itself as a very unremarkable house, if I didn't turn my head around, we wouldn't have spotted this cafe. Zsan and Gil liked this VCR cafe a lot. But to me, cafes are all the same. HAHA. I enjoy the serenity and the aroma of coffee of one's cafe while catching up with friend's life. Hop hop to the next cafe-- Einstein Cafe. Walked around CheeCheongGai- which I call it Bangla Town. Took Gil to Central Market. And it's time to make a move to the place where we long awaited for! We took the GoKL bus, arrived at Menara KH, reached 34th floor, which is where the lounge bar-- Heli lounge bar is, We were requested to show them our IC, probably becos Gil looked too innocent to look like she's above 18, checked our bags and went in. At 6pm, we went up to the Helipad, chilling like a boss while taking sips of our 'Fruit Punch'. Taking a look down, the view of our city was indeed breathtaking. We watched sunset together, celebrating our belated 'valentines day' LOL. The other tables were mostly couples. Wud da heck r the three of us doing there lol ahhaha. This is really a good place to chill, I recommend y'all to go.

Had dinner in Zsan's hse. Her popo can seriously cook well! Her food is Yummmm. Thanks popo. We were too tired to stay up and talk for the whole night. Gil and I woke up at 10, whilst Zsan already prepared us breakfast when we were still sleeping. So nice of her, thankkiuuuu. She prepared a very different kind of western breakfast,  which I think she can open her very own vegtarian cafe next time, heh. We said our goodbyes after our karaoke singing session in Neway. We sang only for a short while cos we got there late. To get there, we had to cross so many roads cos we took the wrong bus. We sweated so much and I would say we risked our lives to get there cos there were so many cars! Way too dangerous. Would never try that again, Ahha. Hope to see Em, Yiteng and the others when we meet up next time.

#Monica
Invited Monica to my house and play cos she wanted to watch The Mermaid but I said no. HAHA. Sorry to bully you. I still treat you very well tho. I cooked tomyam noodles for her but I'm sorry, I'm no good cook. Forced her to eat the noodles even tho it tasted bland. Heh. We had fun watching Kingsman cos there were no subtitles and we didn't really understand some of the parts cos their accent was to hard to understand so we laughed so much trying to guess what they said. Planned to make apple crumble but time didn't allow us. We played pingpong and it reminds me of the days back in high school. Playing pingpong/ badminton with the gang after class... <3 Yay, fun day with Momomo, hope you'll find what you have passion for soon!

Here's a special shoutout to Queen Becccca! Happy 20th Birthday!:) Hope your friends prepared you a memorable birthday celebration. :) #Staypretty #staysmart #stayawesome #staybeingmyrolemodel Miss you screaming that you're hungry all the time in class hahah Miss your all time swag-ness <3 <3 till we meet each other soon! :)

#PS this post was written months ago but I didn't have the chance to upload the photos till now cos my friend just installed vpn on my laptop! I'm so touched I wan cry. This means I can now read blogs and update my own blog and YOUTUBE IM HERE! :) See ya.

Treasuring every second.

It's my last week chilling in Msia! Ugh. Got to accept the fact that I've been here for almost a month when it seems like I just got down from the plane yesterday. Last week was Chinese New Year and I went back to my mum and dad's kampung-- Ipoh on Chor1. Had our reunion dinner with dad's side on 除夕 night. This year's cny is a little different as I'm now vegetarian. I've decided to stop taking meat for almost 3 months now. Well there are quite a few reasons to it. First, I attended a talk in uni where a doc said, humans are not born to eat meat cos scientifically, our intestines are not designed to digest meat, cos compared to the lengths of our intestines to the lengths of a tiger's, ours are way longer. Herbivores have long intestine, so hey, we're more similar to them. Moreover, carnivores have huge and sharp teeth but we don't right? Second, I wanna train myself to being more compassionate as I'll be a doc soon. Thirdly, my yoga instructor, Dr Dhilip, we call him, suggested me to be a vegetarian when we had my farewell lunch before I left to ShangHai. I only smiled, cos that time I thought it would be really hard for me not to take meat cos I'd been taking meat for 19 years leh, say stop then stop, so easy ah. Hahah. Until one fine day in ShangHai when I was having dinner with my friends, I realized quite a lot of them are vegetarian, and so I thought, if so many people can quit taking meat, why can't I? So from that day onwards I officially say bye to meat meat.

My mum and aunt, who are both vegetarians are surprised and glad to find out that I'm not taking meat. That day when I was skyping with Emily, she asked ''Eh, you know what ah? I'm now a vegetarian.'' You wouldn't know how much we laughed and how surprised we both were since we started to be vegetarians at almost the same time! We have that bond eh, no matter that distance. Hahhah.

So, for this cny, no more 大鱼大肉 for me. Seeing all the dishes- raw salmon, prawns, 东波肉, abalone, 石斑fish that I once loved eating so much served on the table, I felt hard to resist the temptation and nearly fell for them... But right at that moment, I tell myself 'if not now, then when?' If I failed to resist the temptation now, I may never be able be a vegetarian forever. Being a vegetarian requires determination too eh? Hahhah. And yupe, I only got to eat Loh Hon Zai- mixed veg since all the other dishes were meat.

It surely felt great to visit my relatives in Ipoh. Only.. to some relatives that I'm closer and have more topics with la. I enjoy meeting them.. Heh.. Cos some relatives I totally don't have anything to talk about or I totally haven't seen them before, so it's like.. AWKWARD.. AWKWARD.. AND AWRKWARD... Like seriously, I don't even know how to address them I just call them uncle or auntie. Hahah. Then take angpau, bye bye hahhah.

The questions I got most from my relatives this year are 'How's China?' 'Do you miss your family?' 'Where are places you've been in China?' '东方明珠is really pretty isnt it?' 'Got ShangHai bf ah?' 'What have you learned ah? Lai, 把脉for me' 'Is this good for the body?'. Wooowwh, I hope the questions won't get worse or more epic next year.

I didn't gamble much this year... I've only won RM1 this cny.. Lol. Instead of gambling, me, my mum, aunt, bro, cous bros, and one meimei stayed up till 4am playing the Police, Killer, and Healer game. Hahah. Never knew it could be fun playing with fam too. <3

Before heading back to KL on Chor5, my fam and I visited to Gaharu Tea Valley in Gopeng, which was where my mum were born. RM 10 per head, went up to the valley where they plant 沉香, which is the Gaharu tree, which is a type of herb widely used in China, and which offers many health benefits especially for those who have blood clots in their heart. We took some pics, hugged and touched the trees, drank Gaharu tea and ehm... Nothing else. Well, I wouldn't say it's worth the visit. But it's nice creating memories with my Fam. Credits to the boss who made great effort in making a plantation into a tourist spot tho. :)

Here ends my cny post. Gonna post about my baes baes I met up with in my next blog post! Stay tuned. Heh.

New phase of life.

As I'm turning 20 this year, I'm stepping into a new phase of life as I progress into university life. Gone were the days where I have to cut my hair and nails every few weeks or to pull my socks up whenever I 'sense danger' (yeah, I was quite a rebel. But 短袜was the trend! What to do > <) I've chosen my path to further my studies in ShangHai, China, to complete my dream as to be a Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Practitioner.

I am actually back for winter break from ShangHai now and I am deeply ashamed of myself for not being able to share my life in ShangHai sooner. I've promised my friends that I'll update, but I did not. I'm not quite of a high profile person, thus only some of my closest friends know I'm going abroad to study. I thought that maybe my friends wouldn't give a shit or perhaps too busy with their life to care so much about me. But I was wrong. Some do actually care. For those who care, here's a great big hug for you. ♡

Just like how relieved and glad to know that my friends are striking high and doing well in life by reading their blogs and looking at their pictures, I tell myself that I should really start blogging again. To let them be a part of my life despite we're now being separated in order to chase our dreams. Are you willing to be a part of my life? I hope you are :)

I've started Sem2 for four weeks and now I'm on winter holidays.  Being in ShangHai for the past few months has been a great experience for me. Not only I can make friends with people from other countries (and also from msia), I've once again assured myself that traditional chi med is the right course for me, and I'm at the right path. The more I learn about it, the more I find it interesting. And it's funny how I don't really like Chinese in high school(I only read English novels), but now, I find China's culture and their writing-甲骨文, interesting, and can't wait to discover more about them. I've come to learn that Tcm is not only about medicine, I have to be good in almost everything, like geometry, astronomy to be a good doctor. How is tcm related to geometry, you might ask. If I never have the chance to study in ShangHai, I might never know.

I got results which I'm really satisfied with in Sem1. But actually, I don't think it means anything. The things I have to learn is infinity, and I know even if I've graduated, I still have to keep learning.

I missed home a lot when I haven't got back to Msia. I miss my family, even though I video call them very often. I now cherish each and every moment being spent with them, knowing I'll be going back soon. My parents keep bringing me out to eat cos they know that I miss the food, and would order so many for me to eat lol. I feel so loved, though. To show how much I love them, I share things that I encounter and what I learned in uni, and I always wonder, whether they feel it or not..... cos I don't really know how to express myself...

The view of ShangHai's 外滩 is magnificent. Being in ShangHai for only several months, I've merely visited a few places. There's this museum which I really like, which is 中华艺术宫, I'm sure Zsan will like this place a lot too. I wanna bring you there, Zsan! They have statues, monuments, pictures, drawings that you don't really understand but that's what I like about it- to guess what the painter want to express through his drawings.

There are 24 students from Msia in my class in total, and we always hang out together. You would think that they might be all cool and serious but they're in total opposite. We're like a family cos who else do we have?  It's good to have them keeping your backs, giving you all the fun and entertainment. It's fate that brings us together, so I hope we can be united as one, maturing, growing and supporting each other in this foreign city, in this place we call our second home. Kinda miss them already, heh.

I now have friends from countries like Hong Kong, Indonesia, Canada, Tukhmanstan, Thailand, France, US, Korea and others.. They're awesome and special, just like each and everyone of you. :)

I'm gonna end here, for today. You can ask me on what you'll like to know. :)

Loves, yuan.

*Pics are in extra large so you can see me clearly. heh :)
